The Old Bakery Terms and Conditions

Thank you for choosing to stay at The Old Bakery B&B. We very much look forward to welcoming you to our home. When you make this booking you are entering an agreement with us so please read these Terms and Conditions to ensure we are the right B&B for you.

Smoking:

Please note that we are non-smoking anywhere on the premises.

Bookings, Cancellation and Insurance

To confirm a reservation we ask for a deposit equal to one night's stay for each room booked unless otherwise agreed. This should reach us within 5 days of making the reservation, after which we reserve the right to re-let the room. The balance is payable when you stay, or prior to arrival if paying by bank transfer (see below for methods of payment).

If you have to cancel a booking up to 28 days before arrival, we will refund your deposit less a £10 administration fee per room. If cancellation occurs within 28 days of arrival, we regret the deposit will not be refunded and the full balance will be due less 75% of the value of any re-bookings we receive. We will advise you of the amount due on the last day of your original booking.

Please note that if you do cancel and we are unable to fully re-book the rooms, we cannot enforce payment of the balance due and rely on your good will to do so. This is our livelihood and source of income so to cover this eventuality you may wish to take out cancellation insurance, which is inexpensive and can be obtained from any good broker.

Prices

We charge a rate for our rooms and the price includes your accommodation and breakfast. There are no reductions for children, but infants/babies in cots are free so long as guests bring their own travel cot, bedding and food for the baby.

The basic rates are based on two people sharing with supplements for additional occupants and discounts for single occupancy.

We also charge a supplement for single night bookings if we accept them – see below.

Any extras will incur an additional charge which we will advise on request.

Methods of Payment

Our preferred method of payment is by bank transfer and details of our account will be provided when you book. We can also accept payments by debit or credit card (including American Express), cheque made out to “The Old Bakery" or cash. Deposits paid by card can be made over the phone.

Arrival and Departure Times

We ask guests to arrive no earlier than 4pm and no later than 10pm unless previously agreed. Rooms must be vacated by 10.30am on the day of departure. If this presents any problems please discuss with us when you book. Thank you.

Dogs and Other Pets

We do not allow guests to have dogs or any other pets in bedrooms or guest areas. If, however, you have a dog for the blind, please discuss with us when making an enquiry about a booking.

Our Dog Bobby

Please be aware that we have our own dog Bobby who is very friendly. She is not allowed in guest bedrooms and we make every effort to keep her away from guests but cannot guarantee you won’t meet her at some stage. If this is a concern, please make us aware before you arrive.

Minimum Number of Nights

We normally have a minimum 2 night policy particularly during the high season, holidays and at weekends. In the event that we are willing to accept a one night booking we reserve the right to charge a supplement.

Non-availability

We will only cancel your booking if your accommodation is unavailable for reasons beyond our control. In the unfortunate event that this happens, we will make every effort to offer you alternative accommodation. However if this is not possible, or is unacceptable to you, then we will refund all monies paid by you. Our liability will not extend beyond this refund.

Damages and Breakages

This is our home and we ask you please to take care with our property. You are responsible and liable for any breakages or damages which you cause to the building or its contents. Please report these as soon as they occur. We reserve the right to charge you for any repairs, making good or replacement costs we may incur.

Liability

We do not accept any liability for any damage, loss or injury to any member of your party or any vehicles or possessions, unless proven to be caused by a negligent act by ourselves or our employees or contractors whilst acting in the course of employment.

Data and Privacy

Any data gathered during the course of this booking may be held on computer which is secured by password. See our privacy policy for more details.
