The Old Bakery Bed & Breakfast and Self-Catering Accommodation in Georgeham near Croyde

A very warm welcome to The Old Bakery run by David and Pippa Morton.

At The Old Bakery we offer both Bed & Breakfast and self-catering accommodation. We aim to provide comfortable, relaxed and friendly accommodation with some features which we believe make it a bit special and a bit different to other B&B's. Our priority is to make sure you have a wonderful stay and we are available to assist in any way we can. We want you to leave with some great memories!

The Main House

Our B & B accommodation in the main house comprises one twin bedroom, one double and one bedroom with divan beds which can be either a double or twin. All rooms are en-suite with tea/coffee making facilities and TV's with built in DVD's and ipod docks. In addition we have a guest lounge and you can use the patio and garden to relax in on sunny days.

Our special feature is that guests can use the kitchen once we have finished serving breakfast, giving a flexible semi-self catering option to your stay. In fact, groups booking all three bedrooms can opt to fully self cater - see our group bookings page for more information.

To check availability and make a B&B booking go to our Prices Availability and Bookings page or just contact us by phone or email (see contact details below).

The Garden Room Self-Catering

In addition The Garden Room is our new and separate fully self-catering cottage for two comprising an original stone building located in the garden with it's own access and patio. The Garden Room has an open plan layout, fully equipped kitchen and the beds can be arranged as either twins or a double making it suitable for both singles and couples.

For all our guests we have passes to Putsborough Beach car park at a much reduced rate, WiFi and plenty of DVD's, games, books and puzzles for the longer winter evenings, not to mention two excellent and very friendly pubs with great food within easy walking distance.

Please note we do not take pets.

Our Location

Our B&B is situated in the centre of the delightful village of Georgeham in the very heart of North Devon's Gold coast very close to both Croyde and Putsborough. Nestling just above and a short distance from this world famous surfing resort, Georgeham benefits from being close enough to experience the bustling Croyde life, but far enough away for you to enjoy a tranquil break.

Whether you want to enjoy the beaches of Croyde, Putsborough or Woolacombe, walk the South West coastal Path, cycle, visit Exmoor or simply enjoy the surrounding stunning countryside, The Old Bakery is your perfect base at any time of the year. And you'll have much of it to yourself if you come out of season!

To whet your appetite, check out David's photography web site Georgeham Photography with many images of Georgeham and North Devon.

A very Peaceful Stay in The Garden Room
David and Pippa made us feel very welcome from the start. They have gone over and above by putting together folders with useful, information which we took advantage of. A very peaceful place to stay; having been to the area before this was definitely our favourite stay. Would really recommend having a cream tea on a Thursday, Friday or Saturday in summer. They are amazing and support a very special charity!! We are looking forward to our next visit. Thank you for a lovely stay. See you soon x

Pampered Few Days
Many thanks for a lovely holiday. Your attention to providing a pampered few days was much appreciated. Breakfasts were superb as was the scenery - shame the weather couldn't match it! Hope to return in the near future.

We loved it here
We loved it here! Highlights have been surfing twice a day at Croyde and Woolacombe, beautiful walks from Morthoe (7 1/2 miles round Morte Point), and from Berrynarbour to Hele and back along the coastal path. We've had such a relaxing time and would definitely like to return. The Garden Room has been fab and very warm and cosy. ... Thank you for the cake and milk on arrival! God bless you both.
M and C from Edgware, North London, April 2015.

The Garden Room: A lovely setting
We have had a wonderful week celebrating our 2 year wedding anniversary. The Garden Room is such a lovely setting in a quiet village. During the week we visited lots of villages including Lynton, Clovelly and Appledore. Thanks to David, Pippa and Bobby for being so approachable, easygoing and friendly..."

Beautiful Beaches
Thank you for such a lovely holiday - we've had such a wonderful time. You've made us feel so welcome we don't want to go home! We had a great week visiting wildlife parks, beautiful beaches and enjoying the stunning scenery. We shall miss lovely Bobby too! We really appreciate all your kindness and generosity.

Peaceful and Tranquil
Such a peaceful and tranquil home, so beautifully kept. I have loved my week here. Our room was so comfortable - very specious especially when my mobility is poor at night. The accessible shower and seat made a huge difference - it can be so difficult going away when you have extra needs and having had a suspected broken elbow from a fall...it has been great to be in an environment where I haven't struggled anywhere near as much as I would normally if I were away. I think the only thing that was slightly tricky was the 1st doorstep as it is quite high. Loved the breakfasts. Loved being made to feel at ease and cared for by you David and Pippa. This is an absolute gem of a place and one I hope we can come back to. Thank you.
K and B, Hants, August 2014.

2016 North Devon Calendar

As a keen photographer, for the last 4 years I have been producing a calendar of local scenes and the 2016 calendar is now available for purchase. The calendars are produced in order to raise money for our charity Paul's Fund which pays for young adults with a terminal or life threatening illness to stay for free at The Old Bakery and which we call Paul's Place in this context. You can see the calendar images here: 2016 North Devon Calendar
If you would like one, do get in touch by phone or email. They cost £6 each to cover printing costs, plus P&P, then we ask you to make a donation to Paul's Fund - we suggest £4 then the total amount you pay is the same as the Countryfile calendar, but that is only a guideline! Thank you!
